welcome to the slip a buck project. we're a by-artists-for-artists service, and we have a lot of cool stuff in store for you guys. unfortunately, we are still artists, which means we have school, internships, art projects, social obligations, and a myriad of other things competing for time with this site. so instead of getting the tricked-out coming-soon-eventually slipabuck, you get this. don't worry though - some really neat stuff will start showing up here pretty soon, and it will be worth the wait. in the mean time if you are into the diy/indie scene, shoot an email to recruits -(a)- slipabuck -.dot.- com, so we can either let you in on some of our prerelease stuff or keep you in-the-loop when this site goes live.

the slip a buck project was originally conceived as an alternative to the Big Content v. Piracy fiasco. we don't believe in hiding our art behind shopping carts and watermarks. it should be available for anyone who wants to see it to see; however, that doesn't mean artists shouldn't be compensated. money is the way that our society determines who contributed how much to the community and how much that person earned in return from the community. artists contribute just like farmers, mechanics, doctors, and all sorts of other occupations contribute, and they deserve to be recognized for their contribution. so here is our compromise: watch this video as often as you want on slipabuck.com for absolutely free! send your friends here. load it in the apple store, and play it for everybody there to see. watch it on anything that is plugged into the internet - we invite you to do so. if you enjoy the video, we hope that you will leave a reasonable tip to thank us for creating it. the same goes if you download it to your ipod, burn it on dvd, or save it into your itunes library. we hope that in this way we can protect patrons' freedom to browse as well as artists' right to be compensated.
